This character library is created for UI flat illustrations that can be used for landing pages and in business apps including the Kollabo project I'm currently working on as a product designer.
This library will also let me create other flat illustrations quickly and accurately.
Since this character library was developed for the Kollabo projects, the first thing I had to keep in mind was that illustrations must embrace the brand identity of the mobile app. To keep the branding consistent, I used the existing color palette of the Kollabo illustrations and added a few more accent colors including blue and gray to give more depth of shades and variation. I also created figures and elements around them.
To add to the variety of creating flat characters, I came up with variations such as hair styles, and hand gesture. These variations will help by adding in variability.
Custom illustration is a great opportunity to paint a unique picture of the product. Creating a character library is an investment for the future the can really pay for itself. This character library will give me an advantage when it comes to creating UI materials not only for the Kollabo app, but also for other projects in the future.
